of regular chicken. Thanks for checking out my video on Chinese Black

mostly raised by chicken fanciers I wasn’t aware that there is a food
    market for them.

  7. The Silkie was named for it’s feathering. The feathers are said to be
hair-like and have the texture of silk. It is true. I own six.

  8. This type of chicken has black skin and meat. The chicken itself can have
white or other colours of feathers. Thanks for your question and thanks for
checking out my video on Chinese Black Chicken Soup.

  11. Haha, that’s funny. I’ve had the black chicken soup before, but I have
never seen a live one. I googled to see what they look like. Which one is
more common- the white feathered ones or the black feathered ones?

  12. Dan does this silkie taste good than the regular chicken? Or they are the
    same taste?

  13. I’m making this soup right now and I live in the U.S :) You can get all
these ingredients and much more in NY or LA. Not sure about the rest of the
    US though

  16. Haha. You’re lucky your mom makes the black chicken soup for you! I heard
that black chicken has twice the antioxidants of regular chicken. Thanks
for telling me what the two ingredients are. I was going to do more
research on them. My mom does make “Gai Dew”, so I’ll ask her to make some
for a video. Thanks for your comments and thanks for checking out my video

  17. For soup, silke black chicken does seem to have more flavour than regular
chicken. The meat of the silke chicken seems rougher, so it’s best used for
soups. I have come across research which says silke chicken has more
nutrients than regular chicken. Thanks for your question and thanks for
checking out my video on Black Chicken Soup Recipe.

  18. Ai Yaaaaaaaa my mom makes this for me when she visits. (every time) Suppose
to help build up one’s immune system. The twigs are Codonopsis root ??
(dang shen) and the white slices are Chinese yam ?? (huai shan). Fairly
common for herbal soups. Thank your mom again! Does she ever do a “Gai
Dew”…”Chicken liquor” soup? Would love to see her recipe.

  19. A black chicken? Thats new for me. Thanks for the video, very interesting.
    :-)

  20. Keep those recipes coming!!!

  21. Thanks very much for sharing your knowledge. Interesting to hear the
feathers feel like silk. I have seen some pictures, so I was surprised to
see what the silkie chicken looked like. Thanks for checking out my video.

  22. Thanks Dan for sharing your mums cooking. ?

  23. Enjoy your youtube cooking. Would your mum able to cook some Chines herbal
    chicken soup ina clay pot?

  24. Can you ask your mom which soup is for what? Some soups are good for the
lungs and some are for increasing the warmth of the body.?

  25. The various Chinese medicinal herbs in this soup are: the “Chinese almonds”
are peach kernels, the white thing (Bai Shao Yao) is peony root, the other
little roots are either ginseng, or Dang Shen/codonopsis root, which is a
    cheaper substitute for ginseng.?
